I have been practicing meditation and mindfulness for almost two years now and I have never had this issue. I didn’t meditate for the past 3 weeks due to poor planning and a super stressful time.
When I got back to meditation yesterday I noticed that I was out of practice, but nothing seemed abnormal. Today was really really bad. When placing my attention on different body parts I simply could not feel them. Not in a paralyzed or numb way, but like my consciousness has deleted my body from existence. I never had this happen to me, not even when I just started out.
It was so scary, I had stop meditating to open my eyes to see that my body was still there. Honestly, I am terrified of going back to the exercise tomorrow. Can anybody explain why this might be happening or what I can do to help it?
